I just read an interesting statistic in this month’s issue of Internet Retailer. According to one etailer that uses video, OnlineGolf.com, people who view online product videos are 85% more likely to buy than those who don’t. OnlineGolf.com encourages more people to watch their videos by adding a “View Video” button right in their search results. If you’re already using product videos – and there are many strong reasons why you should – highlighting them in your search results is an excellent way to draw in more prospective buyers.

Great stat Val – I try to cross pollinate (pardon the pun) on social media as well i.e. such as mentioning on Twitter when we have a new video and adding a You Tube Video tab on Facebook.
We also include Videos in our emails which have been highly successful
I wanted to thank you for the mention of Great Garden Plants a few weeks ago on your blog article.
Love your blog- keep up the great posts.
All the best
Thanks for the kind words, Mary. I’m so glad you find the blog helpful.
You’re quite welcome for the mention — you do an outstanding job on your email signups!
There are so many ways to cross-pollinate marketing efforts, and I’m always surprised at how infrequently most companies do it. You may have already seen my blog post on exactly that subject: http://letsgrowblog.com/2010/04/05/ar-you-missing-opportunities-to-cross-pollinate-your-marketing/
Wishing you a great season!
